The motion

Every member nation pays the United Nations a daily membership fee of 0․1% of its total wealth, with a minimum of $100 per day․ Total wealth is the nation bank, plus the banks of all its towns, plus the balances of all its residents․

Evergreen brings this motion because the United Nations serves every member, but none of them pays for it․ The sessions, the shared currency and the peace kept between us all have a cost․ That cost should be shared fairly․

A fixed fee would weigh heavily on small nations and barely touch the rich ones․ A fee tied to wealth asks each nation to give in proportion to what it holds․ The minimum of $100 makes sure that every member contributes something to the house it sits in․

How it works:
1․ Add up the nation bank, all town banks and all residents' balances․
2․ Take 0․1% of that total․ That is $1 for every $1,000․
3․ If the result is less than $100, the nation pays $100․

Examples:
- Wealth $20,000: 0․1% is $20, so the minimum applies․ Pays $100 a day․
- Wealth $100,000: pays $100 a day․
- Wealth $500,000: pays $500 a day․
- Wealth $2,000,000: pays $2,000 a day․
